October 12, 1492 opens a historical chapter that is based on the exploitation of resources in the Americas and the enslaved work of African peoples, and that enables the development of capitalism, with its racist, christiancentric, patriarchal, hetero / cis, specieist and developmentalist entanglements. In this day:
✊ We celebrate our survival and commemorate the multiple resistance of the indigenous peoples and nations that still fight for a project of society in harmony with the planet and the Pachamama.
✊ We point to the colonial inscriptions in the city of Vienna that reproduce orders of power and which tell a history, ignoring many other histories.
✊ We confront the effects of colonial heritage, the processes of violence and dispossession, extractivism, mass displacements, the exclusion from political processes, the denial of other stories and other ways of seeing and relating to the world. (Text: Picnic Latinoamericano / Abya Yala)
